The Aiera team represents a unique mix of industry experts, in both traditional finance and advanced engineering.

Before joining Aiera, Ken was a leading equity research analyst and head of global Internet coverage for Evercore ISI and Wells Fargo Securities. Within these roles, and in addition to his fundamental industry and company-specific coverage duties, he engaged institutional investors around a more thoughtful and applied approach to artificial intelligence. Ken began his research career at Bear Stearns, which followed positions in corporate strategy and business development at MTV Networks and Time Inc. where Ken gained experience in the acquisition, launch, and digitization of media properties. Ken’s passion outside of work is architectural restoration, and for he and his partner’s work in this area, they have received awards from the NY State Preservation League, CT State Historic Trust, and the Documentation of Modern Monuments (Docomomo US). Ken graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Magna cum Laude with a dual B.S. / B.A. from the Wharton School and College of Arts & Sciences. He also holds his Series 7, 63, 86 & 87 certifications.

Bryan is the current CTO and co-founder of Aiera. He was previously at Amazon, where he led multiple teams in the Alexa organization, overseeing the development of a large-scale data management platform and various model building systems for the machine learning group. Before Amazon, Bryan held multiple engineering and leadership roles at growing start-ups and mid-sized businesses in the Boston Metro area. Bryan frequently writes, speaks, and teaches about machine learning, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship, and often advises local start-ups. Bryan studied Computer Science at Northeastern University before going on to attain an MBA from Norwich University.

Chad brings over 20 years of Wall Street and alternative data experience. Before joining Ken and Bryan in the launch of Aiera, Chad led the client business for alternative data firm Tomahawk, where he was Chief Revenue Officer. Chad’s Wall Street career dates back to high-school with his annual summer jobs working on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. He went on to work for Neuberger Berman, CE Unterberg Towbin, Fulcrum Global Partners, and then Deutsche Bank where he became a Managing Director in the Global Markets division. In 2010, Chad was hired as Senior Managing Director at International Strategy and Investment (ISI), which became Evercore ISI with the acquisition of ISI in 2014. While at ISI and Evercore ISI, Chad managed and led production with the Institutional and Hedge Fund Sales teams in New York. He holds a B.A. from Hobart College where he double majored in Economics and English Literature, and he attended Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, CT. Chad lives in Locust Valley, NY with his wife and three children.

Previously at Lola, Elliot led the frontend team for building web and mobile products as a Director of Engineering. Before Lola, Elliot led the SmallBusinessAPI product with the innovation team at ConstantContact, as well as design at Swoop and Currensee (a tool for forex traders which has since been acquired). Elliot's background is in business, design and development, and he has seen many projects through from conception to launch, some of which include MenuMunchies (acquired), 404Engine, Croovies and a few others. Elliot's latest project No Zero Days (NZD.LIFE) was featured in Apple's app store and in the Inc online magazine. Elliot blogs and tweets about startups, code and design. Elliot studied Management & Information Design at Bentley University.

Conor brings over six years of experience as an equity research analyst to Aiera. In his prior roles at Evercore and Wells Fargo, Conor helped lead investment research of global Internet and other consumer-facing technology companies totaling nearly $2 trillion in market capitalization, notably including: Amazon, Alibaba, Facebook, Google and Netflix. While on the sell-side, Conor spearheaded due diligence efforts on several high profile initial public offerings (IPOs), including Alibaba’s (BABA), the largest ever IPO. In addition to serving as the company’s CFO, Conor has a particular focus on Aiera’s product development. Conor serves on the Associate Board of the Waterside School in Stamford, CT, a pre-K-5 school for underserved students, where he chairs the annual “Run for Waterside” fundraiser, an event which raised over $500,000 in 2018. Conor graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in Economics and a concentration in Finance. He also holds his Series 7, 63, 86 & 87 certifications.

Jason has been building highly scalable systems for over 20 years. He studied Computer Science at WPI in Massachusetts before joining Lycos, where he was part of an R&D team that prototyped technologies for search, spidering, news aggregation and more. From there Jason joined a number of startups in the Boston area, leading overall architecture server side, and sometimes client side as well. He is particularly interested in performance, scalability, and high availability, actively researching and experimenting with the latest technologies. At Aiera, Jason is responsible for overall systems architecture. Outside of the office, Jason practices Jiu Jitsu, and is an avid mountain biker.

Catherine has more than 6 years of experience in fintech operations, product strategy, and user engagement, with a focus on the hedge fund and mutual fund space. She recently served as the Vice President of Operations and Marketing at A2 Access, a startup that specializes in corporate access, resource consumption, and broker vote software solutions for institutional investment firms. Catherine was the company’s third hire and worked directly with the co-founders, CFO, and COO to help sell the business to the leading capital markets and banking analytics platform, Dealogic, in 2015. While at Dealogic, Catherine built a global client data processing team within Dealogic’s buy-side services segment. She managed nearly 50 research analysts split between two work streams in Budapest, Hungary, and Mumbai, India. Outside the office, Catherine enjoys long-distance running and has competed in multiple half marathon races in the New York City area. A native of Virginia, Catherine holds a B.A. in Economics and a Minor in History from the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Virginia.

Jacqueline brings to Aiera research experience in machine learning from AddiLat Semiconductors, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, and the Healthcare Systems Engineering Institute at Northeastern University. She was a contributing author on a $250,000 NSF EAGER grant, which was awarded in 2017 to apply data science and simulation toward mapping the spread of the opioid epidemic. Her other academic research areas have included the random behaviors of financial marketplaces and anonymous authorship detection using neural networks. Within finance, Jacqueline has experience in building ML modeling frameworks for automated testing, validation and efficacy. Jacqueline has an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Northeastern University and a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Physics from Boston College. Through the organization Girls’ Angle, Jacqueline mentors and helps nurture interest in mathematics among young women.

Kevin has 10 years of software engineering experience across the full stack with a focus on UI development for analytical applications. Previously at Apple, he was the technical lead building analytics applications that processed millions of events per hour and were used by Apple engineering teams and executives to manage hardware operations. Kevin went to Apple from Lola where he led the development of the web based version of their travel management platform as well as contributed their mobile applications and backend application services. He has extensive experience in mobile security from his work at Apperian where he was named co-inventor on multiple pending patents. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys running Tough Mudders, playing guitar and is an avid bourbon collector.

Michael comes from ThirdChannel where he worked as a full stack engineer releasing countless features in a microservices-based architecture. Using multiple languages and frameworks, Michael led several internal and client-facing initiatives from concept to completion. He also mentored a junior developer and was the go-to Rails resource. Before ThirdChannel, Michael worked on many projects with the innovation team at Constant Contact and created an internal corporate philanthropy app that encouraged all employees to donate time and money to charitable causes. Michael has a degree in Business Management from Bryant University, but his passion is engineering. Besides hustling on side projects (e.g. Croovies) or learning new tech, Michael has an affinity for movies and all things sports.
